About this deck
This list covers the Spanish food and drink words a beginner needs every day, in the Spanish spoken in Spain. You will learn basics such as agua, café, té, leche, pan, queso, and huevo, the main kinds of food (carne, pollo, pescado, arroz, verduras, and fruta), and the names of the meals: desayuno, comida, and cena. In Spain, la comida is the main meal of the day, usually eaten around two o'clock.
The deck also prepares you for a café or a restaurant. You will learn to ask for la carta, to order the menú del día, a fixed-price lunch with several courses, and to say la cuenta, por favor when you are ready to pay. Each flashcard comes with an English translation and a simple example sentence, so you learn every word in context. Try describing what you eat in a day or ordering a simple meal in Spanish: using the words in your own sentences is the fastest way to remember them.
What Spanish food words should beginners learn first?
